Wahanda Window Sticker at Scin Spa in Notting Hill

Late Saturday night I was walking past Scin Spa in Notting Hill, London and spotted one of our Wahanda stickers in the window!

"We're always open on Wahanda"

We created various “We are always open on Wahanda” for all of our partners who accept the Wahanda fitness & spa voucher, which includes over 300 spas, salons, gyms, yoga & pilates studios, clinics, etc.

Its always good to have a bit of free organic advertising, and hopefully we will see more stickers in windows in the coming months. We got the idea from the likes of TimeOut, Qype, Google Local, etc, and think it’s a great way to let passing shoppers know where they can find more information and buy online, even when the venue itself is closed.

Twitter helps you win & score more points in the NBA

Amazing story – Charlie Villanueva, a 6′11, 232 lb. graduate of the University of Connecticut who now plays for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association, posted a message to Twitter at halftime from the locker room before leading his team to victory. The tweet led to a team ban on Twitter during games. But what i found most impressive is that he kept his message to 139 characters by using “da” instead of “the” – I have now learned a new trick to squeeze even more out my character allowance. Sweet

The below is from the AP:

‘Using the screen name “CV31″ — Villanueva’s initials and jersey number — Villanueva posted the following message during halftime Sunday:

“In da locker room, snuck to post my twitt. We’re playing the Celtics, tie ball game at da half. Coach wants more toughness. I gotta step up.”

And he did. Villanueva finished with a team-high 19 points as the Bucks, who are trying desperately to hold on to the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, beat the Celtics 86-77.

Villanueva said Tuesday that he didn’t think the post was a big deal at the time but now understands that posting to a Web site at halftime can create the impression he isn’t focused on the game.’

Innovative German scheme for enforcement of cleaning up after your dog – humans next?

Filed under: Uncategorized — busterbuster @ 12:00 pm

I wonder if this would work in Paris
Apparently the bavarian town of Volkach is taking DNA samples from every pooch to trace the owner, CSI style, should dog droppings remain uncurbed (so says the Easyjet in-flight ‘magazine’). Perhaps next governments will do the same for chewing gum spit out by humans, after all its a massive civic expense to remove hardened gum from pavements.
